Features and Facilities

Kasees is noted for its warm and friendly mountain lodge atmosphere. In the style of traditional mountain lodges, it has a guest lounge with large log fire, piano, music, board games and books for relaxing apres-ski. The lounge is also a great place to curl up on bad weather days, and to meet other guests.

Kasees also has a traditional Finnish sauna for reviving and relaxing after an energetic day on the mountain (winter or summer). It is available for use by guests from mid afternoon to evening.

Kasees features balconies and windows with fantastic views of the mountain and valley, a great place to view the Thredbo flare run on Saturday nights or a special place for a pre-dinner drink in the setting sun in summer.

Kasees has a well established and sheltered garden which flowers all summer and includes a covered BBQ and garden furniture.

Kasees is an ideal venue for group bookings (booking the entire lodge) such as weddings, family reunions and birthday weekends away. It is a small intimate lodge offering private facilities as well as communal areas with a cosy atmosphere - the lounge room and garden - where guests can gather.

Kasees provides car parking on site - one car per apartment - which in winter is restricted to those with long stay bookings (5 days or longer).

Kasees provides a communal drying room with washing facilities, as well as ski and board lock-up.

Kasees has a non-smoking policy in the guest lounge and in the apartments and kindly asks guests to smoke outside.

The village shuttle bus stops directly next door to Kasees in winter for easy access to the ski slopes. However, being centrally located in the village directly opposite Mt Crackenback, it is only a 5 minute walk from Kasees to the Valley Terminal building, the base for the Kosciuszko Express chairlift. VT also houses the ticket office for lifts, ski school and sporting facilities, ski hire, retail and tuning, and the medical centre. The tennis courts, bobsled, mountain bike hire, golf course and Thredbo Leisure Centre (gym, squash court, sports hall, swimming pool) are also a short walk away.

Kasees is very close to the central pedestrian mall which houses many of the villages eateries, clothing and ski retail, pharmacy, supermarket, bakery, post office, video and bottle shops.
